With regard to the Premier’s announcement that his government has invested R6 billion on road infrastructure since 2019, with half of that money being spent on maintaining the existing network and the other half of that money being spent on new construction:

(1) What is the detailed breakdown of expenditure, including (a)(i) a detailed list of projects and (ii) the cost per project and (b)(i) a detailed list of service providers, (ii) the amount received by each service provider and (iii) the BBEEE status of each service provider;

(2) with regard to the announcement in SOPA 2022 that three new road upgrade projects would be launched in the next financial year: (a)(i) what are the details of the these projects and (ii) what is the contractual value of each project and (b)(i) what service providers have been appointed, (ii) what is the BBBEE status of each service provider and (iii) what is the contractual value of each project?

2. The Western Cape, Department of Transport and Public works are to launch the following projects in the next financial year:

 C749.02: Upgrade/Rehab of Main Road 191 from Km 0.00 to Km 9.57

  • C1000: Upgrade of Trunk Road 28 Section 2 from Km 24.00 to Km 43.88 and the Upgrade of Minor Road 4017 from km 0.00 to km 4.20
  • C1102.01: Upgrade of Main Road 201 Km 58.75 to Km 62.50

C1000 and C1102.1 have commenced procurement and C749.02 is envisaged to go to procurement in the latter part of the year.

As no awards have been made no further details are available at this time.
