Community Safety
(a) What is the progress with regard to the investigation of the suspended four officials who worked in former Minister’s office, (b) what are the transgressions that are under investigation, (c)(i) what are the details of the officials investigating the matter and (ii) what positions do they occupy in the Department and (d) what are the proposed time frame to conclude the investigation?
(a) The investigation conducted by the Department of the Premier, Directorate: Employee Relations is finalised against two of the officials and approval was granted to formally charge them and notices to attend a disciplinary hearing were served on them. The other two employees remain suspended pending further investigation.
(b) The employees were suspended in terms of paragraph 7.2 of the disciplinary code and procedure, which deals with allegations of serious misconduct. The allegations relates to sexual misconduct and other improper conduct.
(c) (i) and (ii)
The team investigating the matter consist of a Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director and a Labour Relations Officer.
(d) The Department of the Premier will endeavour to finalise the investigation and the disciplinary proceedings as soon as possible.
