(a) What is the number of (i) doctors, (ii) nurses and (iii) other healthcare workers who were employed to help respond to the COVID-19 pandemic whose contracts have not been renewed and (b) what is the detailed breakdown by (i) age, (ii) race, (iii) gender and (iv) hospital where they worked?
The attached tables below only represent staff who’s contracts were not renewed due various reasons.
- 592 contracts for staff employed in Covid-19 posts were terminated over the course of the pandemic. The department however re-employed 319 of the 592 in other posts within the department (non-Covid posts) which effective means 273 contracts were completely terminated.
- 221 contracts for staff employed in Vaccination posts were terminated over the course of the vaccine drive. The department however re-employed 107 of the 221 in other posts within the department (non-Vaccine posts)which effectively mean that 114 contracts were completely terminated.
