(a)   What is the number of (i) doctors, (ii) nurses and (iii) other healthcare workers who were employed to help respond to the COVID-19 pandemic whose contracts have not been renewed and (b) what is the detailed breakdown by (i) age, (ii) race, (iii) gender and (iv) hospital where they worked?

Answer Body: 

The attached tables below only represent staff who’s contracts were not renewed due various reasons.  

  • 592  contracts for staff employed in Covid-19 posts were terminated over the course of the pandemic. The department however re-employed  319 of the 592 in other posts within the department (non-Covid posts) which effective means 273 contracts were completely terminated.
  • 221 contracts for staff employed in Vaccination posts  were terminated over the course of the vaccine drive. The department however re-employed  107 of the 221 in other posts within the department (non-Vaccine posts)which effectively mean that 114 contracts were completely terminated.
