(1) How many indigent households have benefited from the government’s Indigent Policy in the various municipalities in the province in the financial year (a) 2009/10, (b) 2010/11, (c) 2011/12, (d) 2012/13 and (e) 2013/14,

(2) In each of the municipalities what (a) was the target set and (b) what has been achieved in relation to the target,

(3) What is the budget amount set by each municipality to deal with the implementation of the Indigent Policy?

[ [1]     Table 1 below shows how many indigent households benefited from  indigent policies within municipalities in the Western Cape. The City has provided new information as the indigents in informal areas were not included.

 [2] [a]  With regard to the targets, municipalities depend on the applications from households who meet the qualifying criteria for the indigent support grant.  There appears to be no target as the number of registered indigent households depends on demand.

[b]  Table 1 above reflects the numbers achieved in the respective years.

[3]      Table 2 below shows the budget amounts for the 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 financial years for municipalities.
