[1] [a] There are 16 schools in the Swellendam municipal area.
[b] There are 7 farm schools which are primary schools namely: Akkerboom, Vleiplaas, Weltevrede, Uitvlug, Kluitjieskraal, Kleinfontein and St. John’s PS.
[c] Teachers at these schools are trained in the methodology of multi-grade teaching
[d] [i] Akkerboom PS – is situated approximately 15 km outside Barrydale along the R 62.
Vleiplaas PS – is situated approximately 10 km outside Barrydale along the R 62.
Weltevrede PS – is situated approximately 5 km outside Barrydale along the R 62.
St John’s PS – is situated in Buffeljagsrivier approximately 20 km outside Swellendam.
Uitvlug PS – is situated approximately 30 km outside Swellendam in the direction of Bredasdorp.
Kluitjieskraal PS – is situated approximately 20 km in the direction of Ouplaas.
Kleinfontein PS – is situated approximately 35 km outside Swellendam in the direction of Riversonderend.
