How many vacancies are there at the (a) Plettenberg Bay and (b) Kwa-Nokuthula police stations, (i) how long have these vacancies been open and (ii) when will it be filled?

Answer Body: 

The South African Police Services informed me as follows:

[a][i]    Plettenberg Bay        =          [11] vacancies

                 [ii]    The national target for staffing for a station in this Colonel category is [98%]. The station is currently staffed at [96%]. During the recent allocation of Entry Level Police Act personnel a total of [6] were allocated. Training will commence on the 21st of September 2014. Further to the above officers posts that became vacant due to service terminations were listed for advertisement in due course.

                        Vacancies are constantly monitored and addressed by means of annual allocations are received from head office and through quarterly submissions to request authority for the various human resource processes.

            [b][i]    Kwanokuthula           =          [6] vacancies

                 [ii]    The national target for staffing for a station in this Lieutenant Colonel category is [95%]. The station is currently staffed at [84%]. During the recent allocation of Entry Level Police Act personnel a total of [1] was allocated. Training will commence on the 21st of September 2014. Further to the above the post of Station Commander that will become vacant due to retirement is listed for advertisement.

                        Vacancies are constantly monitored and addressed by means of annual allocations are received from head office and through quarterly submissions to request authority for the various human resource processes.
