Yes, plans do exist to reduce road fatalities over weekends.
Our Chief Directorate: Traffic Management develops and implements monthly operational plans aimed at road safety on our roads with a targeted strategy over weekends aimed at alcohol abuse on our roads. Alcohol abuse has been identified as the leading cause of weekend road crashes in the Western Cape. These operational plans focus on increased Alcohol Blitzes over weekends.
