Whether his office has received the R50 million required for housing infrastructure, which was initially withheld by the National Ministry; if not, what has his office done to follow up on this matter; if so, when will the money be utilised?
Answer Body:
The R50 million was not for Housing Infrastructure but for Municipal Human Settlements Capacity Grant, the funds were to be made available directly to the City of Cape Town for capacity development in preparation for assignment, which is level 3 in terms of accreditation. There was no need to follow up because I was part of the meeting that took the decision. The money will only be utilized after the assignment because it is for staff employment.
