Whether any operations have been conducted by the South African Police Service water wing at (a) the Knysna Small Boat Harbour and (b) Keurbooms Harbour in Bitou in the last financial year; if so, what are (i) the relevant details and (ii) their successes in (aa) detecting illegal or contraband substances and (bb) prohibited firearms and ammunition

The South African Police Services informed me as follows:

(b) Yes
(i) Various search operations were conducted, which resulted in numerous successes.
(ii) (aa) Seizures and arrests with regards to illegal cigarettes were carried out.
(bb) No seizures of prohibited firearms and ammunition.
