Whether there are plans to extend and enlarge the existing clinic buildings in Ladismith; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

Answer Body: 

There are no plans to enlarge the current Primary Health Care clinic buildings in Ladismith. The clinic will be replaced nearer to the clients using the facilityLand has been identified, negotiated with Local Authority and the previous Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, has given approval for purchase to go ahead.  Business Case planning for the Clinic has been completed and signed off by the Chief Director: Rural Districts.

Preliminary funding has been identified.

Infrastructure Planning will finalise the briefing document in 2015/2016 which will then be issued to the implementing agent Department of Transport and Public Works.

2015/2016 R100,000 Planning

2016/2017 R500,000 Planning

2017/2018 R1,000,000 Tender

2018/2019 R8,000,000

In addition to the above will we be bidding for more funds within the MTEF to enhance funding allocation and to accelerate the project.

  • R100 000.00 has been allocated for the planning in the 2015/16 financial year.
  • During the 2016/17 financial year, a further R500 000 will be allocated.
  • A further R1000 000 will be allocated in 2017/18 for tender.
  • In 2018/19 an amount of R8 million will be allocated to this project.
