What is his departments share of the R250 billion to be spent on 1.5 million housing opportunities by 2019, as announced by the National Minister of Human Settlements (b) how will the provinces share be rolled out and (c) what are the details of where the housing opportunities will be implemented?

Answer Body:

According to the budget allocation from the National Department of Human Settlements over the 5 year period the Provincial Department will receive R1.914 billion in 2014/15 and R1.975 billion in 2015/16. R2.187 billion in 2016/17, R2.326 billion in 2017/18 and R2.558* billion which amounts to R10.960 billion over 5 years.

The allocated budget will be rolled out to achieve the following targets set out in the table below.

The housing opportunities will be implemented across the District Municipalities and metro as shown hereunder:

It is important to note that 2018/19 Budget and Targets is based on a 10% increase per annum estimation.
