What is the current waiting list for housing in the Hessequa Municipality

          and (b) which projects are currently in the (i) planning phase and (ii)

          implementation phase?

Answer Body: 

(a) The current waiting list contains 3281 applicants.

   (b) The following six projects are based in the Hessequa Municipality over

         the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) period in the following

         phases:        

  1. Planning Phase
  • Riversdale Rentals - Spoornet Building (Community Residential Units)

The ongoing engagement with the municipality will assist in getting more projects ready for implementation on the municipal human settlements project pipeline.

  1. Implementation Phase
  • Riversdale GAP: 40 services via Integrated Residential Development Programme (IRDP)
  • Riversdale Kwanokuthula Extension : 42 units IRDP
  • Heidelberg Site 1 Erf 1213 GAP : 73 services  IRDP
  • Heidelberg Diepkloof (Phase 2 IRDP): a total of 122 sites to be serviced in 2015/16.
  • Melkhoutfontein North (170 services and units): Upgrading of Informal Settlements Programme. All sites have been serviced and target of 50 units set for 2015/16 financial year and thereafter.
