Community Safety
What will the National Development Plan outcomes be when implemented by his department for the (a) 2014/15, (b) 2015/16, (c) 2016/17, (d) 2017/18 and 2018/19 financial years?
[a][1] To facilitate the effective functioning of all 150 Community Police Forums [CPF’s] in the Western Cape through the Expanded Partnership Programme [EPP] of the Department of Community Safety.
[2] To promote professional policing by means of exercising effective oversight as contemplated in Chapter 11 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.
[3] To promote an integrated response to safety concerns within the Western Cape by involving a broad base of role-players in the process which informs the determination of the policing needs and priorities of the province as per section 206 [1] of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa with the objective to influence the deployment of policing resources aligned with the needs that exist within communities.
[4] To build safer communities, guided by the whole-of-society approach with particular emphasis on the establishment, maintenance and expansion of partnership within communities aimed at increased safety.
