What programmes do your department have to attract the youth and make sport competitive in all codes; and

- Recreation [This, through its promotion of play and fun, forms the foundation of all sport and it instils an ethos and culture of lifelong activity and healthy living];
- The MOD Programme [A programme for school-going children that focuses on after-school activities at MOD Centres. These centres are based at underserved schools and the activities provided, include recreation, sport, arts, culture, literacy, etc.];
- School Sport [This is structured, competition-based sport played by school-going children];
- Western Cape Sport School [This school provides access and opportunities for learners from underserved communities, who have the potential to do well in a particular code of sport];
- Club Development [Assisting clubs with transport, equipment, and attire and further development, in that clubs are also assisted via relevant administration and technical courses];
- Club Sport [This is structured, competition-based sport played by clubs that function within a sport-based federation];
- Academies [These aim to enhance the level of performance of talented athletes, as well as empower their supporting staff with the capacity to execute talent identification, testing and selection, and also, talent development]; and
- Youth Camps [These are camps that are held for the youth and they focus on nation building, leadership and social inclusion]
