- Which (i) primary and (ii) secondary school still did not receive their text books at the latest date for which information is available and (b) for each school (i) what is the name of the school, (ii) the area served, (iii) which grades are affected, (iv) what are the plans to correct the situation and (v) when will the matter be resolved?
All public schools were afforded the opportunity to order CAPS top-up textbooks on-line via CEMIS during the period July/August 2014. 1 180 schools ordered 787 047 textbooks. A tender process was followed for the supply and delivery of the CAPS textbooks. More than 95% of the textbooks ordered were delivered to schools before the start of schools in January 2015. Delivery was completed by 4 February 2015.
Due to the learner growth at the beginning of the 2015 school year, all schools could order additional CAPS textbooks. Orders for the additional CAPS textbooks were received by the due date, 16 February 2015. Orders for the supply and delivery of the additional textbooks were placed with the contracted publishers. The delivery of these textbooks started on 16 March 2015 and will be completed by 30 April 2015.
