  1. How many (a) (i) primary and (ii) secondary schools are in Lamberts Bay, (b) learners are at each school, (c) learners attend high school outside of Lamberts Bay due to lack of schools in the town;
  1. whether there is a plan to correct the situation in (1) (c); if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

 

Answer Body: 

(1)     (a)    (i)      2 Primary schools

(ii)   No secondary schools

(b)    PW De Bruin Primary has a total 771 learners from Grade 1 – Grade 9

Lambertsbaai Laerskool has 159 learners

(c)     192 Grade 8 – 12 learners attend Graafwater Hoërskool, Augsburg Landbougimnasium and Clanwilliam Secondary School.

(2)     Yes. We plan to start a rationalisation process subject to the provisions of the South African Schools Act in both Lamberts Bay and Graafwater to accommodate all primary and high school learners
