Yes.
- Bursaries are given for external students studying in the various scarce skills of the department (Town and Regional Planning, Environmental Officers, GISc Technicians). We advertise the bursaries at the various tertiary institutions and also in the newspapers. The Department has an agreement with University of Cape Town, where the top scoring student in the Town and Regional Planning class are given an opportunity to do a 6 – 12 month Internship.

Students are employed after obtaining the qualifications in order to obtain experience and work back their bursary obligations.
