Whether the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Hout Bay (Cape Town) have patrolled with the Hangberg and Imizamo Yethu neighbourhood watches in the current financial year; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
Yes. SAPS deploy members to patrol in partnership with neighbourhood watches (NHW) over the weekends. During the week patrollers make use of cellular phones and NHW radio to make contact with SAPS. Regular meetings are being conducted to address shortcomings identified.
