- How many social workers have been allocated to the Beaufort West municipal area on a (i) permanent and (ii) rotational basis, (b) how many hours on average do they spend assisting members of the public and (c) what functions do the social workers perform?
Answer Body:
- 10 Social Workers and 2 Social Work Supervisors have been allocated to the Beaufort West Municipality.
(i) 9x Social Workers and 2 Social Work Supervisors (Permanent) and 1 x Social Worker Graduate (Contract)
(ii) Social Workers are permanently appointed to render Social Work functions
- Social Workers render services daily from 7:30 until 16:00 as well as providing an after-hours service for Social Welfare Services.
- The Social Workers render the full spectrum of Social Work services, i.e. Child and family care and support, social crime prevention, probation and substance abuse services, etc.
