Whether he and his Department have plans to address the issue of the dysfunctional CCTV cameras at the Cape Town train station; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

PRASA and Metrorail are best placed to respond to this question.
The Department’s mandate is defined in the National Land Transport Act (No.5 of 2009) and has a limited ability to directly respond to issues affecting rail operations.
We continue to play an active role to co-ordinate the intergovernmental response to the ongoing rail crisis and sit on several co-ordinating structures, including the Rail Management Task Team, of which I am the Chair.
