In the light of the 11 154 arrests that have been made since the introduction of Operation Thunder in May this year, how many cases arising from the 11 154 arrests that had been made (a) are court-ready or (b) were declined for prosecution?
Answer Body:
1. The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(a) 10 042 – cases court ready
(b) 5 207 – cases declined for prosecution
