Whether his Department has a memorandum of understanding with the national Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for a provincial law-enforcement function over marine resources in the Western Cape; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- No, the Department does not have a MOU with the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries. The responsibility of monitoring the law-enforcement function over marine resources is a national function under the Marine Living Resources Act, 1998 (Act No. 18 Of 1998)
