- Yes, the Department of Social Development assisted the Department of Education with the development of a substance abuse prevention curriculum for the Life Orientation programme which is the responsibility of DoE to roll out. The department also funds SANCA Mitchells Plain, Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre, Sultan Bahu to render substance abuse services across the three levels of intervention namely, Early Intervention, Community Based Treatment and After Care.
