(a) How many international visits did he undertake in the 2014/15 financial year and
(b) in respect of each of these trips.
(i) which countries did he visit;
(ii) what was the purpose of the visit;
(iii) who formed part of the delegation and;
(iv) what business agreements were signed?
[a] MEC Meyer undertook one international visit to Atlanta USA, and Munich Germany in May-June 2014. There were no further international trips for the rest of the 2014/15 financial year.
[b] [i] USA and Germany
[ii] Atlanta, USA – participated in the 7th Regional Leader’s Summit from 31 May 2014 – 3 June 2014 Munich, Germany – attendance of the Mandela Trilogy and Steering Committee meeting on 4 June 2014 regarding the 20th year celebrations of the Bavaria-Western Cape partnership
[iii] Mr D Johnson, media liaison officer of MEC Meyer, accompanied Minister Meyer on the visit to Atlanta, USA
[iv] Reviewed all existing agreements and signed a Cooperation Agreement with the State of Georgia.
At the conclusion of the Seventh Regional Leaders Summit all the participating Regional Leaders signed a Final Declaration reinforcing cooperation between the respective Regions.
