(1) Whether any fraudulent action has been brought to his Department’s attention regarding the 20 bags of shredded documents which were discovered in an Oudtshoorn municipal office; if so, what are the relevant details;
(2) Whether his Department has plans to determine the nature of the contents of the documents that were shredded; if not; why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
[1] The shredded documents were pointed out to the Anti-Corruption Task Team of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation [Hawks] for investigation, during a recent visit to the Municipality but the Hawks has not taken possession of these bags.
[2] No. With reference to the black plastic bags with shredded documentation found on the municipal premises, you are informed that the Oudtshoorn Municipality does not have the expertise to return the content of the shredded documentation.
