Whether the Beaufort West police station has been without a permanent station commander for any period since 2008; if so, (a) for how long was an acting station commander acting, (b) who was designated as the acting station commander and (c) what was the reason for the permanent station commander being absent?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(a) 2011-12-05 till 2014-08-31
(b) Lieutenant Colonel Sakati & Lieutenant Colonel Kennedy
(c) (i) The Station Commander, Col Mkhize transferred as from 2011-12-01.
(ii) New Station Commander, Col du Toit was appointed on 2012-01-16 and appointed as Cluster Commander as from 2012-05-21 due to the promotion of Col Makhubele to Rustenburg on 2012-04-01.
(iii) Current Station Commander appointed on 2014-09-01.
