[1] Whether the South African Police Service arrested or detained any protesters following a protest in Murraysburg on 18 November 2015; if so, (a) for what reason and (b) were they detained during the protest or after it had ended;
[2] whether these protesters were charged; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(1) Yes
(a) Eight (8) persons arrested for hindering a SAPS official in the execution of their duties. Two (2) persons were further charged in terms of the Gathering Act.
(b) Persons arrested after the protest.
(2) Yes, on the charges they were arrested for.
