[1][a] What is the total staff establishment of the [i] Mitchells Plain and [i] Lentegeur police station, [b] what does the staff component serving these communities consist of with regard to [i] police officers, [ii] detectives and [iii] administrative staff and [c] what are the vacancies on the total staff establishment of these stations;
[2] whether there are plans to fill the vacancies; if not, why not; if so, what is the timeline;
[3] whether all vehicles at these stations are in working order; if not, what are the relevant details; if so, how many vehicles are at each stations;
[4] whether there are plans to build a new police station in Tafelsig; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

The turnaround time for basic training of recruits is currently two years, but this period is under review.
Posts advertised for promotion is in addition to the recruitments (above) for both stations. This process will be completed at the end of April 2016.

Total vehicles at station are 119.
7 vehicles are currently in garage for repairs.
112 are operational.
Lentegeur:
Total vehicles at station are 43.
2 vehicles are currently in garage for repairs.
41 are operational.
(4) Yes there are plans to build a new police station in Tafelsig. A briefing meeting, with appointed consultants took place on 2016-04-01. The construction site was visited namely: Erf 36151, Mitchells Plain, corner Oranjekloof Avenue and Andes Street, Tafelsig Mitchells Plain. Consultants are now in process of preparing their documents in their respective disciplines.
