With regard to the current hike in fuel prices:
(a) What is the impact of the current fuel price hikes on her Department’s personnel’s ability to fulfil their mandate and
(b) how much is her Department expected to spend in addition to its budgeted amount on fuel since February 2022?
Answer Body:
(a) The Department remains able to perform and fulfil its mandate, however the increases will place additional pressure on the Department’s Goods and Services Budgets, which are very limited.
(b) The Department is monitoring the situation on a monthly/quarterly basis in terms of our km tariff, but there is currently no provision for an increase in the Department’s allocation for transport cost.
