- Whether her Department has plans to close the Lamberts Bay Primary School; if so, what are the relevant details;
- whether her Department has plans to amalgamate the Lamberts Bay Primary School with another school; if not, why not; if so, (a) with which school and (b) when will this happen;
- whether there are plans to build a high school at Lamberts Bay; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
(1) I have not received a formal submission from my department stating the District's intention to close Lambert’s Bay PS. I am, however, aware that discussions have taken place between the District Office and the schools in the area to possibly accommodate the Grade R-7 learners from Lambert’s Bay Primary school at PW De Bruin Primary school in the future.
(2) No. See (1).
(3) Discussions are under way with regard to where a high school, to serve the communities of Lamberts Bay and Graafwater, should be located. A site has not yet been identified.
