The South African Police Services informed me as follows:

         (a)(i)      432

              (ii)      8

(b)(i)      432 Sectors are patrolled in terms of the CTA and CPA of the station precinct on a 24 hour basis

(ii)     12 vehicles are available for patrols in the Cape Town Central precinct.

The City of Cape Town informed me as follows:

In terms of the City of Cape Town the following is applicable:

  • Metropole is divided into four areas.
  • Deployment of Metro Police, Traffic and Law Enforcement is according to the availability of staff within the four areas on a daily basis.
  • Metro Police deployed on a 24hour while traffic works till midnight and Law Enforcement normal office hours.
  • We don’t have staff allocated to a specific SAPS precinct, but deploy in terms of soft boarder approach.
