(a) 80 Landfill sites were licenced in the 2014/15 financial year.
(b) Denied applications:
(i) & (ii) None denied.
(c) Outstanding applications:
(i) Two applications.
(ii) Merweville Waste Disposal Facility – delay is caused by the applicant. The Beaufort West Municipality is in the process of obtaining additional funds to cover the extra work that the consultant must in do terms of the impact assessment.
Murraysburg Waste Disposal Facility – delay is caused by the applicant. The Beaufort West Municipality is in the process of deciding whether to continue with the current application or to submit a new application due to issues identified during the environmental impact assessment process.
