With reference to the Sedgefield Satellite Police Station:

 

  1. Whether this will become a fully fledged police station; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;

 

how many officers (a) (i) should be assigned to this police station and (ii) are presently assigned to this police station and (b) at this police station have received training on the Child Care Act and the Child Justice Act?

Answer Body: 

The South African Police Service informed me as follows:

 

  1. Yes, Sedgefield will become a fully fledged police station when the new police station (currently No 37 on the priority list) is built.

            (ii) 13

(b) 106 members at Knysna police station attended and completed the vulnerable children course. This includes the 13 members placed at Sedgefield Satellite police station which currently resorts under Knysna SAPS.
