- (a) How many “bakkies” are in the school system that are used for transporting children to and (b) from schools and (c) in which areas is this mode of transport used;
whether her Department informed these service providers of the new “bakkie law”; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- None. The WCED does not contract bakkies, and only contracts bus transport. In terms of these contracts service providers are only allowed to use pre-approved busses for learner transport.
