How many child-headed households in the province have been housing beneficiaries since 2009 and (b) what are the criteria that are being used to identify these households so that they can benefit from housing opportunities?
Answer Body:
- None
- It should be noted that in terms of the current policy, six main criteria need to be fulfilled in order for a person to be eligible to apply the Housing Subsidy. A key one is that the applicant must be legally competent to contract i.e. over 18 years and of sound mind.
Child-headed households may therefore only be assisted by way of a legally appointed guardian.
