How many South African Police Service (SAPS) reservists have been (a) active reservists and (b) called up for duty with pay in (i) the 2015/16, (ii) the 2016/17 and (iii) to date in the 2017/18 financial years?
Answer Body:
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
Active Reservists
(a)(i) 2015/16 = 1050 Reservists
(ii) 2016/17 = 993 Reservists
(iii) 2017/18 = 829 Reservists
Called up for duty with pay
(b)(i) 2015/16 = 893 members.
(ii) 2016/17 = 606 members.
(iii) 2017/18 = No reservists were called up for duty yet.
