With reference to the 40 additional officers assigned to the Philippi East Police Station as recently announced by Police Minister Fikile Mbalula:
[1](a) From which police stations are or will the additional officers be taken and (b) for what length of time will the officers be reassigned to Philippi East;
[2] whether any vehicles are or will be taken from other police stations; if so, what are the relevant details?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
(1)(a) The allocation of (40) additional members for Philippi East will be enlistments into the Service.
(b) Permanent placement.
(2) The following vehicles were issued to Philippi East from:
Hermanus x2
Kleinvlei x2
Oudtshoorn x5
Mitchells Plain x2
Somerset West x2
Strandfontein x2
Worcester x5
