Whether the Minister and her Department can confirm whether more than 4 000 learners of school-going age are yet to be placed in schools after the start of the academic year; if not; why not; if so, how many learners are still waiting to be placed?
Answer Body:
No there are not more than 4 000 learners that still need to be placed. There are currently 2 200 unplaced learners, the majority of which only arrived during or after the beginning of February 2017.
