Whether any cases of copper-cable theft and abalone or crayfish theft have been reported in the Central Karoo; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
No abalone or crayfish theft cases have been reported in the Central Karoo in the 2016/2017 financial year.
During this period two [2] abalone seizures occurred:
Beaufort West CAS 94/10/2016 – Possession of abalone – 7 936 units abalone – Value R800 000.00
Beaufort West CAS 514/10/2016 – Possession of abalone – 67 354 units abalone – Value R11 079 450.00
