(1) Whether he has met with any civil society organisations outside the Western Cape and encouraged their members to relocate to the Western Cape; if so, what are the details of (a) such meetings attended and (b) the organisations that invited him;
(2) whether he plans to address meetings in other provinces where he will encourage residents from those provinces to relocate to the Western Cape; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- As an ambassador for the Western Cape, which is the best run province in South Africa, I regularly promote and encourage moving to the Western Cape, where we work hard to create opportunities for growth. We welcome residents from across South Africa every year on the back of our strong service delivery reputation. (a) (b) I was recently invited to attend a conference hosted by the Cape South African Jewish Board of Deputies to deliver a speech in this regard.
- Yes, I welcome such invitations from civil society organisations and would make every effort to attend.
