- What are the (i) details of the Local Economic Development (LED) strategies of each municipality in the province, (ii) budgets and (iii) functional structures of the LED per municipality in the province and (b) can copies of these strategies be made available?
Answer Body:
I am informed that the LED strategies of each municipality can be found within the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of the municipality; this includes the budgets and the municipal functional structures per municipality. I am also advised that the Department assesses these strategies as part of the annual IDP Assessments process that occurs in the first quarter of a financial year. Municipalities are currently preparing their IDPs for the coming financial year. The request for this municipal information is thus best directed to the municipalities in the province.
