(b) what are the details of all the (i) contractors who benefitted from the programme and (ii) amounts received per contractor,

(c) what are the (i) types of schools that are being built and (ii) types of material being used per school,

(d) what is the number of projects that (i) have been completed and (ii) have not been completed and

(e) what are the reasons for the delays, if any?

  1. The question is answered in the context of the scope of works contracted to be completed by school opening on 18 January 2023, which in some cases are in phases.
  2. Saxonsea HS no 2; (2) Rosendaal HS no 2; and (3) Nowers Academy.
  3. A further school in the Rapid School Build programme Rivergate PS is leased and fitted out and was ready for occupation on 18 January 2023.
  4. The question is answered in the context of the scope of capital works contracted to be completed by school opening on 18 January 2023, which in some cases are in phases.

(e)     There no delays at Edison HS (will be fitted out on completion of the acquisition) or Lwandle PS (new school build) with both expected to be ready for occupation by later this year.

No construction has as yet taken place on the Blueridge PS (phase 1A) project due to the intimidation of personnel, vandalism and destruction of construction materials by members of the Oostenberg Football fraternity opposed to the proposed development.
