(b) According to PRASA, they began a massive security drive during 2020/2021 to hire security guards to build internal capacity and to stabilise the environment. Intelligence driven projects and criminal syndication penetration operations have yielded positive results.
Further to this, PRASA has appointed a Group Chief Security Officer and a team of specialists to assist in the stability and analysis of security situations within the infrastructure environment. Through their analysis and verification of the security environment, the specialists recommended that the approved security plan be adjusted to suit the total integration of both strategy and status of PRASA security. This security strategy includes:
- Continued security deployments
- Using the latest security technology
- Improved cooperation with the security cluster
- Greater community alignment
- Enhanced commuter protection
- Employee skills development
