(a)   (i) How many CCTV cameras are currently operated by law enforcement agencies in the province and (ii) what are the details of these and (b) how many (i) of these cameras are rendered inoperable during interruptions to the power supply and (ii) hours of CCTV footage have been lost as the result of power cuts in the province from 1 January 2023 to 1 May 2023?

17.    (a)(i)  In the City of Cape, the Metropolitan Police Department operates 853 CCTV cameras.

         (b)(i)  It is confined to the area that has scheduled loadshedding, with some camera on power backup systems from buildings. The number of cameras vary per area, however the operability is impacted.

         (b)(ii) From January 2023 to April 2023, approximately 12,210 CCTV monitoring hours were lost in this period, as a result of loadshedding.
