- Whether the Brackengate Intermediate Health Facility continues to operate; if so, what are the relevant details;
- whether any staff contracts were terminated by 31 March 2023; if so,

Answer Body:
- Yes. The facility continues to operate. The number of beds approved for use is now 128 (down from 330 during the COVID period). This reduction is related to the zoning permissions by the City of Cape Town, as well as the available operational budget. The bed utilization rate is approaching 50%, with clients receiving care for acute medical, rehabilitation and palliative care needs.
All fixed term contracts were extended by 2 months and will come to an end 31 May 2023.
A recruitment and selection process is currently being concluded. All staff members currently working at Brackengate have been invited to participate in the recruitment and selection process.
