With regard to the improvement plans tabled by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) to the Standing Committee on Social Development:
Whether her Department has any the plans to assist with the improvement of services and the eradication of long queues at the Sassa offices in Gugulethu and Philippi; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
- SASSA is a national competency. The Western Cape Department of Social Development thus has no mandate to intervene in matters that is a national competency, unless approached by SASSA for such assistance in which cases we have assisted.
