- What (i) is the number and (ii) are the details of the organisations working with children that are funded by her Department, (b) what is the detailed breakdown of the (i) amounts received by each organisation and (ii) organisations funded by municipalities, (c) what (i) is the number and (ii) are the details of the organisations working with children that have (aa) not been funded and/or (bb) received reduced funding from the Department in the current financial year compared to previous financial years?
Answer Body:
- (i) total of 236 (ii) of which 120 is Designated Child Protection organisations, 63 Preventative and early intervention NGOs and 53 Child and Youth Care Centres
- (i) see attached spread sheets for two financial years (ii) not familiar of which NGOs are funded by municipalities
- (i) (aa) Three DCPO funding were stopped due to closure, otherwise all successful applicants in the 3 year cycle are still being funded (ii) see attached
(bb) none of the DCPO were reduced, 11 CYCC were reduced due to less children been accommodated on request by CYCC or change in program, 12 PEI NGOS received reduced funding due to the surplus of funds they still had of the previous financial year.
