In respect of the Employment Equity Act, 1998 (Act 55 of 1998):
(a) What has been the employment equity performance of each provincial department and their entities in compliance with the Employment Equity Act in (i) 2019, (ii) 2020, (iii) 2021, (iv) 2022 and (v) 2023 to date, (b) what is the detailed breakdown of the (i) compliant (aa) departments and (bb) entities and (ii) non-compliant (aa) departments and (bb) entities, (c) what are the details of the areas of non-compliance, (d)(i) what is the challenges, if any, for those departments and entities that are non-compliant and (ii) what strategies are used to fulfil the employment equity obligations by (aa) depart-ments and (bb) his Department as the central department responsible for the coordination of human resources in the Province?
The Western Cape Government takes Employment Equity seriously. The table below provides an oversight of compliance by each department in respect of the interventions which have been employed, noting that there are no areas of non-compliance as per national guidelines. These interventions are designed to ensure Employment Equity and its desired outcomes are progressed in the Western Cape Government.
