- My department has informed me of the following:
There are 25 public special schools that offer the School of Skills curriculum. 21 schools are registered specifically as a School of Skills, while the remaining 4 schools are registered as special schools offering the School of Skills programme.
These 4 schools are:

- The Schools of Skills in the Western Cape are implementing the Technical Occupational Curriculum, as outlined by the national Department of Basic Education.
Learners spend 50% of the week on general education subjects, and the other 50% of the week is spent on practical training in skills workshops with occupational subjects.
