- How much has the (a) Executive Mayor, (b) Deputy Mayor and (c) City Manager of the (i) Kannaland Municipality, (ii) Beaufort West Municipality and (iii) Laingsburg Municipality received in (aa) salary payments, (bb) motor vehicle allowances and (cc) overtime allowance in the past three financial years;
- whether there are currently discussions to raise or lower their salary packages; if so, what are the relevant details?
3(1) A schedule setting out the (aa) salary payments, (bb) motor vehicle allowances and (cc) overtime allowance in the past three financial years is annexed hereto and marked as “Annexure A”. Notwithstanding the latter, it should be noted that Kannaland Municipality only provided a response in relation to the salary payments of the Executive Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Municipal Managers for the past three financial years.
3(2) The acting Municipal Manager of Beaufort West Municipality, Mr. Derick Welgemoed, confirmed in writing that there are no discussions to reduce the remuneration of any of the persons mentioned in paragraph 3(1) above. No feedback had been provided by Kannaland Municipality and Laingsburg Municipality with respect to discussions to raise or lower salary packages.
